The second phase of the beta test version 1.0 has already begun! It's time to join him, personally evaluate the changes and help with the update setup. We tell you what to expect.

Hangar. Which Hangar? New animated Hangar!

The hangar has changed significantly. In fact, we simply removed the old stuffy one and suggest you move to an open-air base in the forest. Your cars will now show off in an open camp in the middle of picturesque nature.

Nearby you will see a lot of combat vehicles, among which there will be trophy ones:

  • dismantled VII Panther;
  • VIII M26 Pershing ;
  • VIII T-44;
  • VII IS-2.

Tanks are what everyone is used to in the Angara. However, in Update 1.0 there will be something you haven't seen yet!

The crew and technical staff set up camp and are now busy with household chores: someone is walking along the cars, taking advantage of a rare free minute, someone is sitting by the fire, and someone is chopping firewood. People take the atmosphere of the game to a new level.

NOTE: Crew members cannot be interacted with at this time. In the end, they are busy guys, they have a lot of work: preparing for future victories is an important process. Don't distract them!

Closer than ever

In the old Hangar, you could move the camera away from the car by a maximum of 12 meters. Now this distance will increase (enough to see Japan's giant heavy tanks in full, for example).

You will also be able to view the technique with more close range to see details you didn't see before.

If you stay idle in the Garage for a certain time, the camera will begin to circle around the car. You can disable this option or adjust its delay.

Parallax scrolling will also appear in the Hangar (that is, the screen will move with the mouse). If this effect makes you uncomfortable, you can turn it off in the settings.

All this awaits you on the atmospheric new map "Calm", which we have all been waiting for for many years. It will take you to the icy wilderness of Scandinavia, where tank battles will take place in the middle of a graveyard of warships. The remains of the once formidable battleships and an aircraft carrier will become an arena for fierce duels.

Sound: feel the melody

New music for World of Tanks was recorded by the Prague Symphony Orchestra and is designed to create a unique atmosphere for each map. Drawing inspiration from all over the world, we composed musical themes, each of which corresponds to a different region. In these compositions there are hidden references to the background of all combat locations. Let's see if you can find them!

New Hangar

  • The hangar is made using new Core graphics technologies.
  • Animated characters have been added to the Hangar.
  • New camera in the Hangar:
    • The distance of the minimum and maximum zoom of the camera depends on the size of the selected machine.
    • Changed the distance that the camera travels when it approaches / moves away (when scrolling the mouse wheel).
    • Added parallax effect when rotating the camera. This effect can be disabled in the "Settings" menu in the "Game" tab.

  • A vehicle offered for purchase has been added to the Hangar. It is placed in the background behind the tank that the player has chosen. To switch to this machine, you need to move the cursor over it and click the left mouse button. In the preview window of the proposed technique, you can study its characteristics, evaluate it appearance and crew composition. And when you click on the "Buy" button - go to the Premium Shop to purchase this machine.

Music and sound

Each card has its own musical arrangement, including:

  • the main theme for the loading screen, which sounds when loading the battle and pre-battle report;
  • two combat interactive tracks based on the main theme, which can sound almost endlessly without being repeated in the arrangement;
  • three ending themes for the battle results screen: wins, draws and losses.

This music score is unique to each map in the game.

There's a brand new musical theme for the Hangar, including music on the mid-screen waiting for battle.

The appearance of the splash screen on the login screen and its musical accompaniment have been updated.

Graphics and effects changes

Added a new winter map "Calm" (immediately in HD quality).

  • Added to all maps new water. Now it is different: calm lakes, moving rivers, sea surfs, etc.
  • New effects have been added to all maps: big fires, waterfalls, burning grass, sweeping sand, shelling from rocket launchers, bees, butterflies, fluff, ashes, etc.
  • Added realistic tracers.
  • All the effects of vehicles have changed: movement, exhaust, fire, detonation of the ammo rack.
  • Completely redone the effects of shells hitting different types surfaces: added more detail, flying sparks and debris.
  • Track tracks have become more voluminous, realistic skid marks have been added.
  • Improved and added realistic and three-dimensional traces from shells hitting vehicles. The decals now have volume, the texture and material of the metal are more accurately and physically correct thanks to the Physically Based Shading (PBS) technology.
  • Added hot air effect to all exhausts, explosions, shots and fires. It also appeared on desert maps as a moiré on the horizon.
  • Vehicles now interact realistically with water: water deformation, foam, shock waves have been added to all the effects of vehicles moving on water, as well as the effects of shots and shells hitting water.
  • Deformation of grass and bushes: now the car crushes the grass when moving, and when shot and explosions, the plants naturally react to the shock wave.
  • Smoke and dust effects now cast shadows on the ground.
  • All debris in destruction effects has been redone: now they are more voluminous and detailed due to proper lighting and normal maps.

Other innovations

You can now customize the appearance and brightness of the red line that marks the boundaries of the map. This can be done in the "Settings" menu by selecting "Information in battle" and then "Map border".

FIXED ISSUES

  • Fixed an issue where, on default graphics settings, dust clouds would appear around the player's car and follow it.

KNOWN ISSUES

  • Large fallen trees are not displayed correctly on the Live Ox map.
  • The running gear of some cars at the minimum settings of the standard graphics lifts up when it hits an obstacle.
  • When switching to full-screen mode during the first load, the entire Hangar is filled with a green background after automatic detection of graphics presets. Restarting the game client and re-entering the Garage helps.
  • In some cases, slowdowns / freezes occur during the destruction of equipment around the player's car.
  • FPS drops in sniper mode when looking through translucent bushes.
  • Map loading time may be longer than expected.
  • There is slow performance for the Ultra presets for the first few seconds after the map is loaded.
  • In some cases, performance drops when switching to sniper mode.
  • Sometimes performance drops when objects are destroyed using the HAVOK destruction technology.
  • Incorrect names of some settings are displayed in the game client.
  • Vehicle textures take a long time to load when entering a battle.
  • When switching to full screen mode, the monitor refresh rate is out of sync.

How to get to test 1.0?

Participation in testing

  • Run the installer, which will download and install test client version 1.0_test2 (8.73 GB for the SD version and 15.4 GB for the HD version). When you run the installer, it will automatically offer to install the test client in a separate folder on your computer; you can also specify the installation directory yourself.
  • If you have the previous test version (1.0) installed, then when launching the launcher common test it will be updated: 1.60 GB for the SD version and 1.77 GB for the HD version.
  • Please note that installing to a folder containing legacy test client files may cause technical issues.
  • Only those players who registered in World of Tanks before 23:59 (UTC) on February 4, 2018 can take part in the test.

  • If a user changed their password after February 4, 2018 11:59 PM UTC, authorization on the test server will only be available with the password that was used before the specified time.

Peculiarities

We also bring to your attention that during testing 1.0 on the test servers there will be scheduled engineering works(25 minutes per server):

How to start

If the player has just installed the game client, he will be prompted to take a training session at the Training Ground immediately after logging into the game for the first time. If you have been in the game for a long time, but want to refresh your knowledge, click the button Esc and select "Training Ground" from the menu:

The pace of learning

The Training Ground keeps new players up to date without overwhelming them with information. He talks about each game feature in turn, explaining elements that may be difficult for beginners. The tutorial begins with mastering the basic elements of the game, followed by the Hangar interface with a range of hints explaining how to interact with each of the elements.

After that, players can start mastering tactical maneuvers against bots in a series of four battles:

  • During the first battle on the Training Ground, players receive simple control and shooting tasks, as well as tips to help them complete these tasks. Having coped with them, users will earn their first tank and will be able to choose one of three vehicles: T2 Medium Tank, Pz.Kpfw. 35(t) or T-26.

  • At the next stage, players get acquainted with the mechanics of auto-aim, aiming at moving targets, as well as shooting in sniper mode. At the same stage, the role of armor is also explained. The training then continues in the Hangar, where players learn to research and buy new modules.

  • In the next training battle, players are introduced to the mini-map, the basics of detection and concealment. There they learn that the timely capture of the base can radically change the course of the battle. They will also understand when it is necessary to attack the enemy in the forehead, and when a flank maneuver will be more effective. Then the players enter the Hangar again and receive detailed information about the crew and their skills / abilities available for study. After completing the third stage, the player receives a 100% trained crew, and the commander will learn the "Sixth Sense" skill, informing the player that his car was discovered.
  • The fourth part of the training is devoted to equipment. During the battle, the player's car comes under fire. He needs to repair the modules and heal the shell-shocked crew members in order to restore the vehicle's effectiveness in combat. Special hints will show and explain what equipment to use in a given situation. The hangar part of this training phase will explain how to acquire and install equipment, as well as talk about combat missions.

Final test

The training ground culminates in a final challenge that requires the player to use their acquired skills in combat, where the player and 14 allied bots face off against a team of 15 bots. If you can't win the first time, you can always try again. For the successful completion of the final stage, the player will receive 500 and 3 days of Premium Account.

Reward

For the successful completion of the "Training Ground", new players, as well as those who have not completed combat training before, will receive everything they have earned during the training course (two vehicles, 100% crew, experience, credits, gold, and days of premium account). Those who completed the training before the release of 9.19.1 will be able to get to the Training Grounds to brush up on their knowledge.

In this release, we've focused on tweaking the basic elements of the game based on your feedback on 9.18. Keep sharing your thoughts on the forum: thanks to the experience gained in battles, your appreciation of the innovations is very important to us. Among other things, this version will also add a new combat training (“Training Ground”) and 13 models of vehicles redesigned in HD quality. And now about everything in order.

balancer

Platoons. Starting with update 9.18, artillery could not be platooned. This limitation was temporary, we introduced it in order to better understand the global changes to the SPG class: to study the impact of the updated artillery on battles and collect your feedback. There were a lot of comments - we analyzed them and the collected statistics and returned the opportunity for self-propelled guns to play in a platoon, limiting the number of artillery to one vehicle per platoon.

Balance within one level in the team's roster. Prior to the release of 9.18, players often complained about the balancer, which brought together teams with significant differences. We decided to deal with this problem step by step, because it cannot be solved at once. In version 9.18, there are much fewer poorly balanced teams, due to the fact that tank destroyers began to be taken into account when collecting teams. Most of the players responded positively to the maximum difference between teams in one vehicle for self-propelled guns, light tanks and tank destroyers.

However, this was not enough to finally resolve the issue with the balancer. For example, Tier X LT in one team was balanced by a light tank Tier VIII in another, and the teams found themselves in unequal conditions.

In Update 9.19.1, this problem will be solved: we have added a new logic for balancing team compositions by vehicle types and platoons within each vehicle tier. Each time, when creating a battle, the matchmaker will strive for the same number of tank destroyers, light tanks, self-propelled guns and platoons for each level. For example, if one of the teams has one tank destroyer in the upper part of the list, two light tanks in the middle of the list, and one self-propelled gun in the lower part of the list, then vehicles on the enemy team should be distributed according to vehicle classes in the same way. However, if picking up vehicles takes too long, the restrictions will be loosened to send players into battle faster.

The sorting of vehicles in the "team's ears" is a "cosmetic" change that will not affect the gameplay, but it will make it easier for you to navigate the battle and plan your own actions before it starts. You can quickly analyze the composition of your own and enemy teams and plan actions for the beginning of the battle. The list starts with heavy tanks. Below are medium tanks, followed by tank destroyers, light tanks and self-propelled guns. Machines belonging to the same type are sorted by name. First come the names, starting with numbers, then written in Latin, and then in Cyrillic.

"Training Ground"

In the coming versions, new learning functionality will be added, which we will introduce in several stages, starting with update 9.19.1. In this version, the "Training Ground" will be available. Later we plan to introduce other additional learning elements.

The first stage of the tutorial introduces beginners to the basic mechanics of the game in a series of four tutorial battles. They explain the basics of the game and tactics in the form of hints. different cards and situations in combat. To make the process go smoothly, the "Training Ground" gradually introduces the players to the interface of the Hangar.

At the same time, the player is shown a clear sequence of actions in preparing the vehicle for battle. First, he learns the basics: learning and buying vehicle modules, driving vehicles, shooting, types of ammunition, inflicting critical damage, crew training, equipment and equipment operation. Throughout the learning process, the user receives detailed information about the elements that are most relevant at the current stage.

The training culminates in the final task - a full-scale 15 vs 15 battle, in which the player, along with 14 bots, opposes an enemy team of 15 bots. These are not ordinary bots - we have worked much deeper into their logic.

Combat training is not only training: players will also receive credits, experience, equipment, equipment and days of premium account. Upon completion of the training, new users will receive 500 - this is enough, for example, to repeatedly dismantle equipment.

NOTE: "Training Ground" is also available for experienced players. However, only new players will receive the resources provided for completing it. If you have previously completed "Combat Training" and received a reward for it, there will be no accruals for completing the "Training Ground".
Changes in LBZ conditions

In Update 9.19.1, the conditions of some Personal Missions will change. After the improved balancer was introduced, it became much more difficult to execute them. We took your feedback into account and changed the terms and conditions to match the current realities of the game. Thank you for your help!

Added functionality for beginners and players who want to improve their skills - "Training Ground", which will replace the existing "Combat Training" in the game. The briefing at the training ground will tell you about the main nuances of the game: vehicle control, victory conditions in battle, detection of vehicle penetration zones, operation of the visibility system, purchase and improvement of vehicles, crew management, equipment and consumables. For beginners, the mode will be available when you first enter the game, and for experienced players - in the menu by clicking on the button Esc.

The mechanism of operation of indicators of armor penetration in the sight has also been redesigned.

Strongholds 1.6

In the Stronghold, the room commander in Offensives has the opportunity to indicate the direction of movement of forces on the mini-map even before the battle with mouse clicks. These instructions will be visible to all players who are in the combat room.

Balancer Changes

  • Balance within one level. Within one level, the number of distortions in the number of light tanks, tank destroyers, self-propelled guns and platoons will be reduced. So, for example, there will be fewer battles where light tanks are at the top in one team and at the bottom of the list in the other.
  • Added the ability to invite self-propelled guns to a platoon (but not more than one unit).
  • The sorting of vehicles (within the same level) in the player panels by class has been changed. New order: heavy tanks, medium tanks, tank destroyers, light tanks, self-propelled guns. Within one type, the technique is sorted alphabetically.

Crew stun mechanic changes

  • Added convenient drawing of the allied artillery sight marker on top of objects and bridges.
  • Damage dealt by allies with artillery against a stunned enemy is now counted towards the distinctive markings on the gun. Now this damage is also taken into account, as well as damage to a downed track or damage according to intelligence, as well as damage inflicted directly to the enemy vehicle.
  • The conditions for receiving the Horus Medal award have been changed: now, in order to receive it, it is enough to deal 2000 damage to enemies and not damage allies.
  • Added the ability to separately configure the display of total damage ribbons for the target you have stunned to the information settings in battle.
  • Changed camera settings in alternative aiming mode (view from the trajectory). Reduced camera sensitivity to small bumps.

As part of additional education, students and everyone who wishes can be trained under the training program for tractor drivers of categories “B”, “C”, “D”, “E”, “F”.

Together with State Inspectorate for the supervision of the technical condition of self-propelled machines and other types of equipment in Moscow, the employees of the Training Ground organize an exam for obtaining permission to drive self-propelled machines and obtain a tractor driver-driver certificate.

The exam for the right to drive self-propelled machines is carried out in the following sequence:

1. theoretical exams - on the safe operation of self-propelled machines and on the rules traffic;

2. comprehensive exam - on practical driving of self-propelled vehicles, safe operation of vehicles and traffic rules.

Theoretical examination is conducted by means of a survey on tickets approved by the Glavgostekhnadzor of Russia. The knowledge shown by the examinees during the exam is assessed according to the "passed" - "failed" system. The "passed" mark is given if the examinee answered correctly 7 questions out of 8 (Safe operation) and 8 questions out of 10 (Rules of the road) correctly in the allotted time. Otherwise, the mark "failed" is set.

Persons who have not passed the theoretical exam are not allowed to take the practical exam. A re-examination is scheduled no earlier than 7 days later.

The practical exam consists of two stages:

1. on a site closed from traffic;

2. in simulated traffic conditions.

The first stage of the practical exam includes the following examination tasks: see TASKS AND SCHEMES. Exam tasks are performed by the examinee individually. The sequence of performing the tasks provided by the complex for a specific category of self-propelled vehicle is determined by the examiner. The first stage of the practical exam is ultimately assessed according to the "passed" - "failed" system. The final mark is set on the basis of marks for the performance of all tasks provided by the complex for a particular category of self-propelled vehicles.

The second stage of the practical exam, depending on the possible number of routes, the number of examiners and examinees, is carried out in two ways:

1. several examinees alternately travel on the same route;

Routes and the sequence of tasks in the process of moving along the route are determined by the examiner. The second stage of the practical exam is assessed according to the "passed" - "failed" system.

To assess the exam, a list of typical errors is used, which are divided into gross, medium and minor. In accordance with this classification, penalty points are awarded for each error:

for rough - 5, medium - 3, small - 1. The mark passed is set if the examinee did not make mistakes or the amount of penalty points for the mistakes made was less than 5. The mark "failed" is set if the sum of penalty points is 5 or more.

Training grounds and educational training centers (UTCs) are integral part educational and material base used for practical training of students. The following learning tasks are solved here:

study of battle formations and placement of military equipment, weapons in real conditions;

instilling practical skills in combat work both as part of individual numbers and as part of crews; increasing field and tactical skills, acquiring skills in managing units, elements of weapons;

study of the organization of operation of equipment and weapons, instilling skills in preventive and maintenance work, troubleshooting and troubleshooting; instilling the skills of military service in accordance with the regulations of the Armed Forces of the USSR;

familiarization with the organization of military service.

The planning of classes at training grounds and training centers is carried out in accordance with military training programs and thematic plans of military departments.

Organizationally, training grounds and training centers can be special divisions of military departments or training divisions of military units and military educational institutions allocated by orders of commanders of formations (associations) to provide practical training for students in the relevant military specialties.

In the absence of their own training grounds, practical training of students of military departments can be organized on the basis of training centers (UTCs) of military units.
