The official part of the holiday will traditionally begin on September 10 at 12:00 on Red Square. There will be an opening ceremony and a festive concert with the participation of pop stars. 1. Park of Arts "Museon".

On September 10 and 11, Moscow will celebrate City Day. Over 1,000 events have been prepared for citizens and guests of the capital at 212 venues in the central part of the city and in all administrative districts. More than 300 concerts and music festivals, more than 100 master classes, more than 200 free excursions, 12 high-rise and 20 park fireworks displays are planned.

The City Day celebration will be held under the motto “Moscow - the city of Russian cinema,” since 2016 is dedicated to Russian cinema, and the capital acts as the flagship of the domestic film industry. The capital of Russia is home to the most famous film studios and hosts major film festivals dedicated to various film genres. From the early Soviet period to the present day, many films that have become cult favorites have been filmed in Moscow. Free excursions

On September 10 and 11, as part of the City Day celebrations, Muscovites and guests of the capital will be able to go on free city tours. The concept of fireworks includes many figures. For example, bouquets of various flowers will bloom in the sky: lilies, daisies, peonies, dahlias. There will be fireworks in the colors of the tricolor. The final chord of all fireworks is called “Golden Moscow”. Parade of city vehicles

On September 11, the first Moscow parade of municipal vehicles will take place. On City Day, a convoy consisting of more than 650 vehicles from the Municipal Services and Emergency Services Complex will pass along the Garden Ring, after which over 130 vehicles will form an exhibition display on Krasnaya Presnya Street.

During the celebration of City Day, more than a thousand festive events will be held in the capital, the Presidium of the Moscow Government announced during the meeting.

“City Day is coming soon, and for the first time we will celebrate it not on the first, but on the second weekend of September. A large number of people, organizations are preparing for this event, and almost all departments of the city of Moscow are involved. More than a thousand festive events will be held on September 10-11,” said the Moscow Mayor.

About 10 million people will take part in the celebration of City Day. “In total, we will host more than a thousand events, including 300 concerts. According to him, the parade will be no less spectacular than the parade of military equipment on May 9.

After the parade, an exhibition of automobile equipment of city services will open in the area of ​​Barrikadnaya and Krasnaya Presnya streets.
